The most powerful insight here is not that AI replaces human regulators, but that it elevates them by removing the friction of routine tasks and enabling more thoughtful, targeted oversight.

One of the most compelling applications of AI in regulation is the potential to democratize engagement. Public comment periods are often performative rituals, overwhelmed by spam, astroturfing campaigns, and inaccessible language.
